News & Announcements

Important information and updates from the Bergenfield Police Department.

We are pleased to announce that all our officers are now equipped with body worn cameras, in accordance with the NJ Attorney General's Body Worn Camera Policy Directive 2021-5, Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Guidance and the Bergenfield Police Department's Body Worn Camera Policy.

Body worn cameras (BWC) provide an accurate and unbiased recorded account of an incident.  These cameras will strengthen the rtust between the police and the public while maintaining accountability and transparency.  They will be worn by uniformed and plainclothes officers on the center of the officer's chest.

Below are pictures of Sgt. Witty and Officer Brooks wearing the WatchGuard V300 cameras showing their mounting locations.

On Friday, June 25th, Chief Tristan Ramos took ownership of his new office and was sworn in by Mayor Amatorio and Chief Rabboh.  After a tour of our Municipal Building, we headed to the Bergen County Court House where Chief Tristan Ramos met Bergen County Surrogate Judge Dressler, BCPO Prosecutor Musella, BCSO Chaplain Jackson, BCSO Sheriff Cureton, Detectives of BCPO Major Crimes, and the other Chiefs.  We then ended our day with a luncheon at Van Saun County Park.

We were honored to be apart of this great commUNITY event and enjoyed our time under the direction of Chief Tristan Ramos.
