A CrimeStoppers reward is being offered for information leading to the identity of the persons responsible for an arson incident at the Bergenfield Library. On July 6, at approximately 10:00 PM, the fire alarms activated at 50 W. Clinton Avenue. Responding fire units encountered a smoke condition in the building. The cause was determined to be from a fireworks-type explosive that was placed in the book return drop box. Damage was sustained to the box and several books inside. Video surveillance is being reviewed by detectives. Suspects are males, ages 13-16.
